Review Policy

Payment

I am retired now so I read and review purely for my pleasure. I am not paid to review any book and my reviews are not included in any publication from which I receive income. I regularly buy books, eBooks and audiobooks but I also receive proofs, galleys and ARCs to participate in Blog Tours or in exchange for a fair review. In each review I will clearly state where my copy has been sourced showing whether I have bought it, or it has been gifted.

Rating

In this blog I will not post an opinion which is negative. In simple terms any book that I like would score a 4- or 5-star rating, a 3-star rating I would consider as ‘neutral’, and I would still express an opinion. Any lower would not be posted on here though if finished I will rate on Goodreads. Under these circumstances, where a book has been provided for review, I will provide feedback but not publish it anywhere.

Format

I review physical books, eBooks, and audiobooks and I am happy to receive any requests in these formats.

Net Galley

I regularly access review copies through Net Galley and am happy to receive requests using this medium. I will endeavour to provide feedback on all books requested.

Blog Tours

I regularly participate in Blog Tours. I am happy to consider any requests from publishers, agents or authors but naturally my capacity is restricted. I will only accept a place on a tour when I feel able to commit to a specific date.

Proofs and ARCs

When requested I will post reviews before or around the publication date, my target is within eight weeks of receipt. Any proofs or ARCs that have not been requested or discussed prior to receipt I will try to fit in around my commitments at that time.

Other sites

As well as on my blog any requested reviews will also be posted on Goodreads, Amazon, Audible and Waterstones as appropriate.
